What is the definition of Hadith?

Hadith is all that the prophet Muhammad -peace and blessings be upon him- said, including all his words, deeds, reports, ethical characteristic, moral character, or biography that was reported on him, whether before or after the mission of prophecy. As everything that was issued by prophet Muhammad –peace and blessings be upon him- is a revelation from Allah the Almighty, as Allah the Almighty said: (And he is not pronouncing any thing at his whim, but it is a revelation that revealed to him), Suruh Al-Nisaa. Hadith sometimes named Sunnah, as these two expressions have many similar points, they are somehow the same, Hadith- as we mentioned- is any thing taken from prophet Muhammad- peace and blessings be upon him- including words he said, deeds he did, or anything even if he did it for only one time, however Sunnah refers to the recurring acts, which means any thing transmitted to us by the frequent acts by the prophet-peace be upon him, then his companions did it emulating the prophet (p.b.u.h). Hadith or Sunnah is very important for Muslims as it is the second source after the holy Quran for Muslims to understand their religious teachings, for example, in Quran the prayer was mentioned as an order from Allah the Almighty to Muslims, as Allah the Almighty said: ( Tell my servants who believe to perform the prayers and spend what we have given them secretly and publicly before the day in which there is no sale in it nor friendship can do help, comes), Suruh Ibrahim. But Allah the Almighty didn’t mention how to pray, or the number of Raka’a in each prayer or its conditions, but we found all of that and learned all of that from Hadith and Sunnah of prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

There are many sites offer teaching Hadith online, the virtue and benefits that a person obtains from learning Hadith science and preoccupation with it, are many and can not be confined. What an honor we have when we study such a science like Hadith science!, as the honor of this knowledge is derived from the honor of the known, and who is much honored than prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him!, and studying Hadith online make it much more easy for us. There is no doubt that the one who has the knowledge and faith is of a higher quality than the one that has faith only, and the knowledge indicated by Quran and Sunnah is the knowledge that was inherited by prophet Muhammad- peace and blessings be upon him- to the scientists, as he said: (Prophets didn’t inherit a Dirham or a Dinar, but they inherited the knowledge, so whoever take it, take a lot of luck).
