40 Hadiths Nawawy

We will continue our talking and explanation of the 40Hadiths of calling for Allah, these 40Hadiths illustrating the importance of the Hadith science in calling for Allah and in teaching the preachers the adequate methods for calling people for Allah Almighty.

**All Hadiths are translated by their meanings.

16# On the authority of Jaber bin Abdullah –may God be pleased with them- , he said: We were with the Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him- in an invasion, and a man from the immigrants ” the people of Mekkah”, hit a man from the supporters ” the people of Medina”, then the man from supporters said: Hey, the supporters!, and the man from the immigrants said: Hey, the immigrants!, then The Messenger of Allah –peace and blessings be upon him- said: What is it about the pre-Islamic lawsuit?, they said: Oh Messenger of God, an immigrant man hit a man from the supporters. He said: Leave it , it is malicious.

**The words “hey the immigrants!”, “hey, the supporters!”, mean calls for assistance and fight.

this Hadith is talking about the acts of people in pre-Islamic era. Where the man used to ask for assistance of his tribe if he faced a great matter, and his people used to support him whether he was right or not, they were doing so from the perspective of tribalism without reference to the justice or the rightness. And when the same thing happened between Muslims of immigrants and supporters, and the Prophet –peace and blessings be upon him- knew about this, he forbade it and warned of it, as Islam invalidate the fanaticism and tribalism, and made the judgment by the legal jurisdiction, evidences and rules. 17#On the authority of Abdullah bin Amr bin Ala’as –may God be pleased with him-, he said: The Prophet –peace and blessings be upon him- said to me: “You fast forever, and rise at the night”, so I said: Yes,. He said: “If you do that, it would attack the eye, and exhaust the soul, there is no fasting for whom fasts forever , fasting three days is fasting forever”. I said: “I can tolerate more”. He said: “So fast like the fast of Dwood –peace be upon him- he used to fast a day and break a day, and not flee if he met” In this Hadith The Prophet –peace and blessings be upon him- indicated that it is forbidden to overstate in worshipping not to affect health and it may cause boring which may lead to leave the worship or some of it. And this Hadith guides to the balance between matter and spirit, as it is demonstrated by the advice of Prophet Muhammad –peace and blessings be upon him- to Ibn Al-a’as -may God be pleased with him- to fast like the fast of Dawood –peace be upon him- who was fasting alternate days, in order to be patient with the challenging of life , so he was never flee from the battlefield, and his commitment to the worship didn’t prevent him from his duties or made him escape when enemies attack.
