Virtues of Surat Al-Paqara:

Like we used to do in each article in our series about explanation of Surat Al-Paqara, we will continue our talking about its virtues. On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud -may God be pleased with him- on the authority of the Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- he said: (Every thing has a hump, and the hump of the Quran is Surat Al-Paqara), where the hump is the hump of the camel and it means a” high”, and Surat Al-Paqara called the “hump of the Quran” either because of its length or because it contains many rulings, and may be because it contains an order to Jihad which has a great honor in Islam. Explanation and interpretation of the fifth verse of Surat Al-Paqara:

5#{Those are on the guidance of their Lord, and those are the ones who are prosperous}

Allah –the Almighty- said: Those: it refers to those whom all the attributes that God Almighty demonstrates in the previous two verses, apply to them. Those have reached the guidance, which is the path that leads to faith, and they have reached the peasant, which is the goal of faith. But why Allah –the Almighty- used (Those) twice in the verse? And merge each other? To ensure that in Islam, there is only one faith which its way is guidance and its goal is peasant. on the guidance: Allah -the Almighty- used “on” to raise the guided person on the guidance it self, to refer to that the guidance did not come to restrict the person’s life, but it came to lift the person and honor him and protect him from harm, meaning that the person when committed to the approach of Islam, it does not humiliate him but it honors him and take him from good to better. Who are prosperous: it means the successful ones, but Allah –the Almighty- used the word prosperous which means flourishing which is associated to planting, to refer to the truth that the person’s mission is to put the seeds in the ground and water it, and after that, the growth of the seed and the production of the fruits are not the man’s mission and he has no role in it. So this seed will grow up and give a big tree which will give many fruits, so, the earth took a pill and some effort and multiply it for you, and it is not your work, it is from Allah. This is the same as in commissioning, it takes from you some effort to be committed to the Islamic approach, then Allah multiply it for you many times. The person has to do what is demanded from him and not to be complacent his work because great rewards will come from Allah.
