Tafseer Surat Al-Ikhlas

We are going to talk about Surat Al-Ikhlas in this article, and we must tell that the one who recites Surat Al-Ikhlas purifies his heart and liberates his mined from all illusions because Surat Al-Ikhlas emphasize that there is no God but Allah the one and only.

Surat Al-Ikhlas:

It is Surah Makkiya, which means that it was revealed in Makkah, it consists of only 4 verses, and these few verses bear a great meanings of monotheism and devotion, which are the spirit of Islam. It is Surah number 112 in the arrangement of Quran.

The reason of its revelation:

It was narrated that some heathens asked prophet Muhammad –peace and blessings be upon him- to tell them the lineage of Allah. And in other narrative, that some Jews asked prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) to describe his God, anyway Surat Al-Ikhlas was revealed to improve the meaning of perfection and monotheism of Allah-the Almighty- and to deny presence of any deficiency-in all its forms- in Allah-the Almighty.

Explanation of Surat Al-Ikhlas:

(Say: God is one); Allah is the one and only, he is unique in his holy self, unique in his sayings, and unique in his deeds. (God is “Al-Samad”); Samad is an Arabic word that means that Allah is the great lord who all creatures need to his help and resort to him, and that he is indispensable but he never needs to anyone. It also means that he has no abdomen meaning that he doesn’t need to eat or drink- Far be it form his Almighty. So, the name “Al-Samad” proved the meaning of singularity and individuality for his Almighty. (Did not give birth and was not born); that means that he- the highest majesty for him- is not a father of anyone and has neither a father nor a mother; not a father or a son of anyone. ** And we shall stop here, to meditate in this verse; why (did not give birth) came before (was not born)? Because some people said that Allah -glory be for him- has a son!!, but we did not hear about someone said that Allah -glory be for him- has a father. So it was important to negate this point first. (He Has not anyone comparable to him); it means that no one is similar to Allah-the Almighty- because he is unique in his characteristics, his deeds, and his sayings. Therefore, we went throw these only 4 verses, and we found that they bear and ensure a lot of great meanings about Allah -the Almighty- which help us to remember always that we don’t have a helper to resort to him but Allah. And that Allah- the Almighty- is the one and only.

The virtue of Surat al-Ikhlas:

Surat al-Ikhlas is always combined with” Al-Moaozatin” which are Surat al-Nas and Surat Al-Falaq, as an incantation for people from illness and demons of jinni and human. Also Surat Al-Ikhlas is equal to third of Quran; as prophet Muhammad-peace and blessings be upon him- was setting with his companions and asked them (Can’t anyone of you read a third of Quran in one night), and they wondered how can one read a third of Quran in only one night!?, And prophet Muhammad-peace and blessings be upon him- who was described by Allah-the Almighty- that he was kind and merciful with the believers told them about a Surah that equal to a third of Quran, and he said: ({Say: God is one, God is Al-Samad, Did not get birth and was not born, He has not any one comparable to him}, this Surah equal to a third of Quran), Narrated by Al-bukhary.
